Description | Applications are possible both in the cryogenic range (-270 °C) and permanently at high temperatures (300 °C). This wide range makes polyimide fibers very widely applicable. Its thermal stability is based on the aromatic backbone of the polymer. The fibers do not melt and are very flame-resistant due to their very high LOI 38. The fibers have a unique multilobal cross-section, which offers 90% more surface area than conventional round fibers. This makes them a perfect material for highly efficient filter systems. The fibers also meet the requirements of all common textile processing steps. |
Application | Textile, Industrial, PPE/Apparel, Thermal Insulation, Composites, Filtration |
Feature | Polyimide fibers with their outstanding thermal stability and the great chemical resistance against acids were designed for a wide range of hot gas filtration media made for coal power stations or waste incinerators. We use different post industrial and post consumer textile materials such as felts and filament residues to mechanically regain a fiber with a decent cut length. Our fibers can be used as a blend item for classical textile nonwoven and spinning applications. |
