Description | Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fibers are high performance semi-crystalline fibers with exceptional chemical and thermal stability, high dimension stability, low moisture absorption and high hydrolysis resistance when exposed to acids, alkalis and organic (corrosive) solvents. Further advantages are high energy absorption, low creep tendency, high dimensional stability, and fatigue resistance. PPS has a melting point of about 285 ° C and retains its properties when used continuously up to 190 ° C. |
Application | Automotive, Textile, Paper, Hygiene & Medical, Plastics, Rubber, Electrical, Industrial, Filtration |
Feature | Heat Resistance, Flame Retardency, Chemical Resistance (Alkali), Chemical Resistance (Acids) |
Form | Recycled Fiber |
Notes | Because of the superb chemical resistance and the continuous withstanding use at 190 degrees PPS fibers are often used for hot air or industrial filter media. We use different post industrial and post consumer textile materials such as felts and filament residues to mechanically regain a fiber with a decent cut length. Our fibers can be used as a blend item for classical textile nonwoven and spinning applications. |
