Description | With a standard tenacity of around 55 cN/tex it is mainly used for braiding, knitting, weaving, hook & loop. |
Synonyms | Polyetheretherketone |
Application | for industrial |
Feature | PEEK is outstanding in heat resistance, flame retardance and chemical resistance. It’s excellent impact strength, friction and wear performance makes it unique. With a melting point of 340°C and a continuous usage temperature of 250°C it can be used for various high end applications like aerospace and automotive composites, filtration fabrics, high temp rubber reinforcements. |
Notes | Polyetheretherketone is a thermoplastic synthetic material which is also available in fiber form. It is permanently very tear-resistant, highly temperature-resistant (up to 260 °C in continuous operation, melting point 335 °C.) with very low gas emissions. In combination with very good resistance to chemicals and electromagnetic radiation, applications are widespread, especially in cable harnesses and braided insulating hoses. The lightweight material has an outstanding coefficient of friction and very good wear properties. In combination with its relatively low density, PEEK is an excellent choice for sports equipment, medical technology, and aerospace applications. It is often used as a compound in the injection molding industry. |
Specification | 100-6000 dtex |
